I am currently working as a Key Lighting TD/Sequence Lead at MPC Vancouver. Over the last 2 years I have worked as a lighting artist on numerous feature films, including, The Mummy, Ghostbusters, & The Finest Hours.
In addition to the lighting role on both The Finest Hours & Ghostbusters, I also took on the role of Stereo Lighting Lead. I was responsible for ensuring all the stereo rendering was completed on time and to the highest standards. This role allowed me to lead a small team of lighters and develop my leadership and time management skills. I was also involved in the implementation and testing of new pipeline tools as they related to the stereo rendering process
I am currently working as a Key TD / Sequence lead on A Wrinkle In Time. I am responsible for setting up sequence light rig, that are used across the entire sequence. I have also take the role of lookdev for one of our key assets in my sequence. I am also responsible for ensuring my teams work is completed on time and to the highest standards.
My time working on The Mummy was extremely rewarding. The role of sequence lead allowed me to develop as an artist and helped prepare me for future challenges. The management of a large sequence and a small number of artists put me to the test. Ensuring that I had the right people working on the right shots was a new skill that I had to learn, and I believe I learnt it very well. We delivered our sequence on time and it is some of the best work I have done.
In the future I hope to continue to develop my artistic and technical skills in the feature film industry. I am currently living in Vancouver, Canada, and hold dual citizenship with Canada and New Zealand. I have Bachelors of Art & Design (3D Animation & Visual Effects) from Media Design School in Auckland New Zealand.
